Description
The Electrical Technician must be able to understand schematics, wire panels & troubleshoot as necessary. Your experience will include electrical work within construction, residential, commercial or manufacturing industries. You’ll work alongside our Applications, Controls Electrical and Mechanical Engineering teams to design, build, program, and deploy custom automated equipment and solutions for every application, process, and industry.
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems and perform necessary repairs.
Read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.
Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
Ensure compliance with electrical codes and regulations.
Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to optimize electrical systems and equipment.
Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used.
Provide training and guidance to junior technicians and apprentices.
Stay up to date with advances in electrical technology and industry best practices.
Serve as the technical interface with internal team for assigned projects.
Supports an environment conducive to successful team interaction and customer satisfaction.
Obtains product and system technical information and keeps up-to-date with current and new technologies.
Builds relationships at the technical and professional level with I-C Automation’s customers and vendors.
Technical execution of projects.
Responsible for meeting project schedules, hour budgets and customer satisfaction targets for own activities in support of the project team.
Vocational Training and 3+ years experience required; or GED with 5+ years in related field. (but does not require a university degree).
Must be able to perform good mechanical and electrical assembly. Must understand the use of all production equipment.
Must have a general understanding of the operation and use of key Automation products.
Must have a general understanding of PC systems/software, including the production computer system. Must be familiar with and understand all procedures and specifications relating to assembly, testing, packing, and shipping of products, including but not limited to: Process Control, Inspection and Testing, Inspection and Test Status, Product Identification and Traceability.
